The Riverdale Art Walk is nearly here!  If you haven’t been to one, it’s a two-day juried fine art exhibition featuring emerging and established artists showcasing their original art works. The exhibit draws over 10,000 people each year to Jimmie Simpson Park and various studios, galleries, and retail spaces in South Riverdale and Riverside. The RAW is presented annually by the Artists’ Network, a non-profit, membership-based initiative dedicated to supporting professional visual artists.

This year’s exhibition areas will encompass the grid from Broadview to the West, Leslie St to the East, Eastern Avenue to the South, and Dundas Street to the North; but as usual, the main areas will be along Queen Street East.

Artists can exhibit in any retail space, or private studio in this area or in Jimmie Simpson Park. The Riverdale Art Walk is easily accessible by the TTC, driving or by bike.  See you there!

*Speaking of saving dates, if you missed The Spring Chef’s Farmers Market on the Danforth this past Saturday, you should know that it’s just the first in a series of events run as part of the Danforth BIA’s new The Danforth Experience project. Once a month, from now till December, the BIA will be holding another fun, season-appropriate event to showcase all the great stuff the Danforth has to offer.  Stay tuned!
